Can you name every Eurovision winner?

Seventy years of key changes, glitter and nul points, from a seven-country experiment in 1956 to the biggest song show on Earth. Every year crowned one champion of Europe's favorite night of music. How many winners can you remember?

About this quiz

The Eurovision Song Contest began in 1956 with just seven countries, and has run every year since, except in 2020 when it was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Each participating broadcaster sends one original song, and the winner is decided by a mix of professional juries and, since the late 1990s, viewers voting by phone and app. The winning country traditionally hosts the next contest.

This quiz lists every contest by year, from 1956 to 2026, and asks you to name the winning country. Some nations have won again and again, others only once, and a few winners came from countries that no longer exist. In 1969 four countries finished level on points and all four were declared winners, so any one of them counts for that year.

The contests appear in order, each with its own answer box, and the winning act and song are shown once you find or reveal each answer. You have seven minutes. If you get stuck, think about famous acts and songs, and remember where each contest was held, since the host is usually the previous year's winner.
